Whanowhano is an excellent traditional game that was used to help develop explosive power. It is a great activity for learning to read and anticipate other peoples actions, while disguising your own to trick the opposing players.
As with most Kemu Maori there are regional variations and often different names for the same games. There are various actions you can use. We have 4 simple landing positions. Feet in or out. Left foot or right foot forward.
If you land in matching positions, first player to call HI is the winner.
