Our goal is to promote the preservation and celebration of Māori customs and culture through interactive experiences that are accessible to all ages and abilities.

By offering a range of activities and packages, we aim to cater to our participants’ diverse needs and interests, ensuring that everyone can engage with and learn from Te Ao Māori.

Oura kaupapa, connects people with eachother and the rich history and knowledge of Māori culture in a hands-on and engaging way. Whether it’s learning how to play traditional games like Ki-o-Rahi or participating in exploring te taiao nature, we kaupapa fosters a sense of community, respect, and understanding among all who participate.

In-school delivery

Tū Mātau Ora offer a range of challenging fun kēmu/games suited for all ages and abilities. These provide a platform for learning te reo, tikanga, uara and various Māori concepts which are great to support te Mataiaho the curriculum refresh. “Tauira love it and so do the teachers“. It connects everyone to te ao Māori and to each other.

We utilise the tūakana/teina model of leadership during our professional development for teachers and student leaders. interestingly this also doubles up with the first follower principle of leadership also coming into play.

Community events

TMO provide a range of fun activities that are perfect for whānau and kids of all ages. We cater for groups of all sizes, from school galas, Waitangi day & Mātariki celebrations, neighbours day gatherings. We provide tākaro activities, the equipment and expert kaimahi staff to help everyone safely engage in Māori customs and culture.
