We are over the marama/moon to announce we are finalists for 3/5 of the regions, Wellington City, Kāpiti and the Hutt! Rehekō!!! Very proud to be finalists amongst so many other fantastic roopu/groups doing amazing mahi around Te Upoko o te Ika a Māui.
Update e te whānau!!! We have been fortunate our mahi has been awarded 2 rising star awards for Wellington City and Kāpiti Coast.
Wellington City – For mahi with Newlands college Ki o Rahi kaupapa, Newlands and Evans Bay intermediate schools. And for various community events including Pukehuia Park community Kī o Rahi.
Kāpiti Region – Kī o Rahi in Kāpiti and Ōtaki from 2023-24 saw thousands of tamariki and rangatahi learn Ki o Rahi, culminating in two have a go fun days with the largest gathering of Kī o Rahi players in modern history! We were rewarded with rising star!!!
Mihinui to everyone who nominated us, and to Nuku Ora for your ongoing tautoko that enables us to share our kaupapa to the wider hapori.
Hutt City – Exploring the benefits of intergenerational connections through play with kaumātua and their mokopuna. We normally learn a lot more from our kaumātua and look forward to growing this kaupapa across greater Wgtn.
