Tū Mātau Ora Kaupapa
Sharing Taonga Tākaro, traditional Māori Games and Activities with everyone!
We provide a fun, safe and friendly space for people to engage in Te Ao Māori!
Offering unique and tailored opportunities for all groups to play, connect, learn, experience and feel Māori customs and culture in action.
By “Pushing play the Māori wayhttps://www.nukuora.org.nz/news/taonga-takaro-tuku-iho-play-the-maori-way/” re-indigenise and enrich people, communities and our environments.
We advocate for fairer policies and practices with both government and non-government organisations.
Examples include working with Wellington City Council around Pukehuia Park development and subsequent Ki o Rahi activation.

We are collaborating with Nuku Ora and the Healthy Active Learning team to share tākaro around the region.
“I’m impressed by their commitment and enthusiasm sharing this kaupapa to all our community… I believe they would bring great benefits of community connection, cultural connection and physical & mental health“
Pippa Cubey. Newlands Community Centre Coordinator
